  • An unmarried partner in a genuine relationship with the main visa holder for at least two years prior to the application.

If the couple is not currently living together (for example, due to work, study, or cultural circumstances), the applicant must demonstrate an ongoing and committed relationship. Acceptable evidence includes regular communication, financial support, shared responsibility for children, or time spent together.

A child may qualify as a dependant and apply for entry clearance if they are:

  • Under the age of 18 at the time of application, including those born in the UK during the main visa holder’s stay; or
  • Over the age of 18, but only if they currently hold permission to remain in the UK as a dependant.

Additional requirements:

  • The child must live with the parent(s), unless enrolled in full-time education away from home.
